A random thought and hiatus.

My favourite song right now has to be Susan Enan's, Bring On The Wonder, it's both beautiful and haunting in a strange way. I first heard Sarah Mchlachlan do a cover of the song and then went hunting for the original. I actually think I prefer the original to Sarah Mchlachan's version, even though the harmonies in the cover are out of this world. Anyway! For some odd reason every time I hear this song I think of, The Hunger Games, and I don't even know why. All I know is that it makes me want to see the movie like whoa. I don't think I've been this excited to see a film since, Repo Men. It looks so fricken' epic.

It's also that time of the year that I disappear even more than I usually have been lately. Tomorrow being Christmas eve i'll probably be found at my mum's house, cooking, wrapping the last few presents, and eating a metric ton of rum balls. Then after waking up at some ungodly hour to tear into the mound of presents under the tree and cooking some more, (British Christmas breakfast and Christmas dinner for the win!) we'll be heading to Illinois until January 3rd.

Basically after today I'll be pretty much non existent. I may post a picture of the final Christmas tree result once we have all the gifts under the tree, but that depends on how energetic I'm feeling.

Regardless! I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year. I hope you all get exactly what you've asked for and have all kinds of fun.

Merry Christmas everyone. <3 <3

Inwhich Ami goes a tad TMI

This post is about sort of bodily issues. It's TMI so I'm cutting it to be polite and all.

Get your TMI here.Collapse )

Christmas at my own personal 221B

So I've finally gotten around to taking pictures of what my first Christmas in my apartment looks like, I figured I would share, though the images are behind a cut because I'd rather not slam your LJ with my sparkly sparkly.

Behold!

Sparkly sparklyCollapse )

In other news. I am totally loving, Ao no Exorcist.

Some things never change.

It seems I will always be a "weeabo" because even now, at twenty-six, I am sitting here giggling like a fifteen year old over the anime I am currently watching. I should be sleeping or doing a million other things, but no, anime it is. Scary thing is, I can see myself doing this even when I'm greying and my eye sight is staring to go. It seems some things never get old.

Okay, we'll ignore the fact that this series, very much like Kuroshitsuji, has everything I want from an anime and pokes every one of my kinks. It has fraternal twins I can ship, one twin having a tail because he's a demon, and the fact that the other twin is his teacher in high school and acts completely different when he's in said teacher mode.

Seriously, it's like whomever created this series was all, LOOK AMI I WROTE THIS JUST FOR YOU.

In short, anime is awesome and I am a dork.
This post is going to be short and sweet. It's 3.40am and I have work in an hour, my feet are killing me and I generally dislike the universe.

HOWEVER!

I get paid today, and just opened the first door on my advent calender (Because I am really about six years old) This earns the universe points toward me liking it again.

But yes, December first! Seasonal layout change! Tis my favourite time of the year and 24 days until Christmas. Huzzah! When I'm off work tomorrow I'll probably start hunting out my seasonal icons, but for now I have to go be an adult.

What is this I don't even

So I'm listening to Patrick Stumps song, This City, on Youtube. It's not the music video, it just has an image of Patrick in a suit, sunglasses, fingerless gloves, and a bow tie.

I'm pretty sure I'm a terrible person for saying this, but I find that picture ridiculously attractive, although I don't think it's because he's skinny and lithe now. I think it's because in that picture? He reminds me so much of Matt Smith it's not even funny. Now I'm just picturing Matt Smith with Patrick Stump's voice and the fangirl part of my brain kind of flips out.

Weird thing is? I don't find Matt Smith attractive, at all. so I don't know if it's Matt Smith I find attractive, or if it's actually Patrick, or hell, maybe it's just the suit and bow tie.

Actually yeah...I think it's that. xD I guess I have a suit kink.

Whee! Seriously, this is what being inside my brain is like. Welcome. xD

No rest for the wicked.

I hate that my job has a tendency to suck my soul out of my ears. I want to scour the appearing Black Friday ads and get all excited about them, I want to sit and plot my Black Friday plan of attack and escape plan in case it looks like I may get trampled to death, and lastly I want to wrap presents and make them look all kinds of pretty.

But hells bells I am just too damn tired. X_x

Blarg. I'm going to bed.
Finally it's the weekend.

Also, you wouldn't think Korean would be that much more difficult than Japanese. But oh, it is. Or maybe I'm finding it difficult because I heard Japanese pretty much every day from the ages of thirteen to eighteen/nineteen, but not so much with the Korean.

*sings awkwardly in Korean* Bloody hell, I feel like a kid again trying to sing, Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis, for the first time and completely bollocking it up.
Today kind of sucked. I'm tired, my feet hurt, and my entire right arm is killing me. Considering I'm right handed it made today rather interesting, I winced every time I had to perform any kind of movement. To top it off my co-workers all seemed to have bad attitudes today and towards the end of it I wanted to scream at them until I was hoarse, that or stab them repeatedly with the handy rake near my work station.

Not much else is happening really. We recently bought our Christmas tree for the impending holidays, we've also bought decorations and I'm waiting on my advent calender and Christmas cake to be delivered. We also finished making the wreath for our front door, and I attempted to make sausage rolls for a work pitch in, they were actually good! I didn't burn them to a cinder, nor did I kill anyone with them! Surprisingly enough they were a big success with several people at work too, so I fully intend to make a ton near Thanksgiving/Christmas and stick festive tooth picks in them and such.

Here is a pic of the wreath! My step dad twisted the grape vine and we bought the decorations and decorated it xD

Oh! I also had a brilliant birthday! and I want to say a huge thank you to thinkpink20 for my awesome LJ spider gift! <3 <3 (I want to get you a gift in return! give me a pairing/prompt and I'll write a terrible fic for you or something dearie! <3)

Now onto the things I am looking forward to! I was going to go into detail but I kind of got lazy xD so here is a sort of quick run down, it's mainly comprised of books and fic but there's some tv/movies in it too.

Sherlock Holmes 2- Because my life has been without epic Robert Downy Jr-ness for too, too long.
Sherlock BBC- This doesn't really need an explanation does it?
Blackout (Newsflesh Series)- I am waiting with baited breath for this, like literally, counting down the days. I'm also looking forward to the books the author is putting out under her other pen name, because I love me some October Daye.
Cold Days (Dresden Files)- Reading Ghost Story earlier this year has helped me fall in love with this series all over again. It helps that I now ship Harry/Molly so freakin' hard it's not even funny, I suppose.
Make It Or Break It (Season 3)- OMFG I cannot WAIT for this. The world gets bonus points if the powers that be decide they want to add some Sasha/Payson undertones to this season, though I'm not sure how they'll manage it short of them clambering all over each other. But a girl can dream..right?
Any future MIOBI fic written by jennycarolyn-She's my favourite writer at the moment, seriously. In my head she's giving my favourite published authors a run for their money, and winning. I would continue to expound upon how utterly fantastic her stuff is, but it's better if you just check it out for yourself.

And that's it! Or at least it is until I can think or more. Now I'm going to hunt for fic and pet Gizmo for awhile because he has rolled onto his stomach and is demanding attention.

The awesome that is my life.

These things happening have made my sort of shitty week so much better.

The super talented, super epic, and my own personal queen of Sasha/Payson fic, jennycarolyn, has started up a new piece of writing called, The Fine Print. To say I'm excited would be an understatement. Her fic, Not Just Yet But Almost, blew me away. I honestly haven't read a fic that perfect in a long, long time, and we're talking back in the days of those legendary Harry Potter fics, kind of perfect.

So yes, super excited about that.

It's also my twenty-sixth birthday next Saturday. To celebrate I am having a massage at this fancy spa, complete with fluffy robes and beverages. I'm then having a British style buffet with my family.

Mmmmm sausage rolls.

Awesome things are awesome, they're almost enough to stop me thinking about why my week was made of fail and lame.
